Yes, my eyes have seen God’s salvation. If you believe in Jesus, Jesus will give you the power to become a child of God. The Lord, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is King and gives you Life!

Mass of Lourdes of  December 30, 2021:

Homily:

What I take away from this is the conclusion:

« To all those who despair: yes, my eyes have seen God’s salvation. »

Readings of the Mass of December 30, 2021:

First reading

« He who does the will of God dwells forever » (1 Jn 2:12-17)

Reading of the first letter of St. John

I write to you, little children: Your sins are forgiven to you because of the name of Jesus.  I write to you, parents: You know the one who has existed from the beginning. I write to you, young men: You have defeated the Evil.  You know the Père. I wrote it to you, parents: You know the one that has existed from the beginning. I wrote to you, young men: You are strong, the word of God dwells in you, you have defeated the Evil.

Don’t love the world or what’s in the world. If someone loves the world, the Father’s love is not in him.  All that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, the arrogance of wealth—all comes not from the Father, but from the world.  Now, the world passes, and its lust with it. But the one who does God’s will remains forever.

              Psalm

(95, 7-8a, 8b-9, 10)

A/ Joy in heaven! Exult the earth!  (95, 11a)

Give back to the Lord, families of peoples, give back to the Lord glory and power, give back to the Lord the glory of his name.

Bring your offering, enter his forecourts, worship the Lord, dazzling with holiness: tremble before him, whole earth.

Go and say to the nations, « The Lord is king! » The world, unwavering, is holding firm. He governs the peoples with righteousness.

Gospel

« She spoke of the child to all those who awaited the deliverance of Jerusalem » (Lk 2:36-40).

Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Today the light has shone on the earth. Peoples of the universe, enter into the clarity of God. Come and worship the Lord all!  Hallelujah.

Gospel of Jesus Christ according to St. Luke

At that time, when Jesus’ parents came to present him to the Temple, there was also a prophet woman, Anne, daughter of Phanuel, from the tribe of Aser. She was very advanced in age; after seven years of marriage, remained a widow, she had arrived at the age of 84. She did not stray from the Temple, serving God, day and night in fasting and prayer.  At that very hour, she proclaimed the praises of God and spoke of the child to all those who awaited the deliverance of Jerusalem.

When they had completed
all that the Lord’s law prescribed,
they returned to Galilee, to their city of Nazareth.

The child grew and strengthened, filled with wisdom, and God’s grace was upon him.

After singing for the Holy Spirit to tell me what He wants to highlight so far, the cursor on the computer stopped in front of the Bible verse above and below:

« all that was prescribed by the law of the Lord, »

Mass of December 25, 2021 at the Convent of St. Anthony of the Friars Minor, Franciscans of Brussels, corresponding to the readings of the dawn of December 25, 2021.

What I take away from this homily:

It was Saint Francis of Assisi who wanted, on the1st, that a nativity scene be represented, for the Mass of Christmas Eve, in 1223 in Greggio. His friends helped him prepare this crib. Saint Francis, crossed by the love of God, wanted to contemplate and make everyone contemplate the humility of the Son of God, born in a poor stable, destitute, in great precariousness. Thus, St. Francis helped his contemporaries to better understand the Mystery of the Incarnation, to empathize with Jesus, to love Jesus, who is among us, at Christmas. It is up to us to choose Christmas with and for Jesus. At Christmas, God visits us, God with us, for us, in us. This is Good News, where God tells us that He comes for us, fragile, little child, God who saves us and asks us to love Him by agreeing to take Him in our arms.

Dawn Mass

First reading

« Behold your Coming Savior » (Is 62:11-12)

Reading the book of the prophet Isaiah

See, the LORD proclaims
to the ends of the earth:
    say to daughter Zion,
        your savior comes!
Here is his reward with him,
        his recompense before him.
They shall be called the holy people,
        the redeemed of the LORD,
and you shall be called “Frequented,”
a city that is not forsaken.

Responsorial Psalm

Ps 97:1, 6, 11-12.

R. A light will shine on us this day: the Lord is born for us.
The LORD is king; let the earth rejoice;
let the many isles be glad.
The heavens proclaim his justice,
and all peoples see his glory.
R. A light will shine on us this day: the Lord is born for us.
Light dawns for the just;
and gladness, for the upright of heart.
Be glad in the LORD, you just,
and give thanks to his holy name.
R. A light will shine on us this day: the Lord is born for us.

Reading II

« God saved us with his mercy » (Tit 3:4-7)

Beloved:
When the kindness and generous love
of God our savior appeared,

not because of any righteous deeds we had done
but because of his mercy,
He saved us through the bath of rebirth
and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
whom he richly poured out on us
through Jesus Christ our savior,
so that we might be justified by his grace
and become heirs in hope of eternal life.

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to those
on whom his favor rests.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel

« The shepherds discovered Mary and Joseph, with the newborn » (Lk 2:15-20)

When the angels went away from them to heaven,
the shepherds said to one another,
“Let us go, then, to Bethlehem
to see this thing that has taken place,
which the Lord has made known to us.”
So they went in haste and found Mary and Joseph,
and the infant lying in the manger.
When they saw this,
they made known the message
that had been told them about this child.
All who heard it were amazed
by what had been told them by the shepherds.
And Mary kept all these things,
reflecting on them in her heart.
Then the shepherds returned,
glorifying and praising God
for all they had heard and seen,
just as it had been told to them.

Mass of the day

First reading

« All the far from earth have seen the salvation of our God » (Is 52:7-10)

How beautiful upon the mountains
are the feet of him who brings glad tidings,
    announcing peace, bearing good news,
announcing salvation, and saying to Zion,
        “Your God is King!”

Hark!  Your sentinels raise a cry,
        together they shout for joy,
for they see directly, before their eyes,
        the LORD restoring Zion.
    Break out together in song,
        O ruins of Jerusalem!
For the LORD comforts his people,
        he redeems Jerusalem.
The LORD has bared his holy arm
        in the sight of all the nations;
all the ends of the earth will behold
        the salvation of our God.

Responsorial Psalm

Ps 98:1, 2-3, 3-4, 5-6.

R. (3c)  All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.
Sing to the LORD a new song,
   for he has done wondrous deeds;
his right hand has won victory for him,
   his holy arm.
R. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.
The LORD has made his salvation known:
in the sight of the nations he has revealed his justice.
He has remembered his kindness and his faithfulness
   toward the house of Israel.
R. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.
All the ends of the earth have seen
   the salvation by our God.
Sing joyfully to the LORD, all you lands;
   break into song; sing praise.
R. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.
Sing praise to the LORD with the harp,
with the harp and melodious song.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
sing joyfully before the King, the LORD.
R. All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.

Reading II

Heb 1:1-6

Brothers and sisters:
In times past, God spoke in partial and various ways
    to our ancestors through the prophets;
in these last days, he has spoken to us through the Son,
whom he made heir of all things
and through whom he created the universe,
who is the refulgence of his glory,
the very imprint of his being,
and who sustains all things by his mighty word.
When he had accomplished purification from sins,
he took his seat at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
as far superior to the angels
as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

For to which of the angels did God ever say:
You are my son; this day I have begotten you?
Or again:
I will be a father to him, and he shall be a son to me?
And again, when he leads the firstborn into the world, he says:
Let all the angels of God worship him.

Alleluia

R. Alleluia, alleluia.
A holy day has dawned upon us.
Come, you nations, and adore the Lord.
For today a great light has come upon the earth.
R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel

Jn 1:1-18

In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
        and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things came to be through him,
and without him nothing came to be.
What came to be through him was life,
        and this life was the light of the human race;
the light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it.
A man named John was sent from God.
He came for testimony, to testify to the light,
so that all might believe through him.
He was not the light,
but came to testify to the light.
The true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world.
    He was in the world,
and the world came to be through him,
but the world did not know him.
He came to what was his own,
but his own people did not accept him.

But to those who did accept him
he gave power to become children of God,
to those who believe in his name,
who were born not by natural generation
nor by human choice nor by a man’s decision
but of God.
    And the Word became flesh
and made his dwelling among us,
        and we saw his glory,
the glory as of the Father’s only Son,
        full of grace and truth.
John testified to him and cried out, saying,
“This was he of whom I said,
‘The one who is coming after me ranks ahead of me
because he existed before me.’”
From his fullness we have all received,
grace in place of grace,
because while the law was given through Moses,
grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
No one has ever seen God.
The only Son, God, who is at the Father’s side,
has revealed him.

What I learned from the homily I listened to at the Mass of the day of December 25, 2021, in Fontenay-aux-Roses, Sainte Rita chapel, by Father François Lapointe:

Christmas is the feast of birth, knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God who incarnated, God whose grace can touch us to the depths of our being.

Summary of what I have learned from the homilies in this article and the testimonies below:

God loves us, so much so that He can save us from physical and spiritual death and touch us in the depths of our being, so much He loves us, even if we are in the deepest despair and all seems lost, He is our Salvation. He expects us to love Him, keep His commandments with love and humility, get to know Him, and make Him known, with faith in Him, love for Him and our neighbors.

Testimonies of Muslims who became Christians:

In this 3rd testimony, at 10:21, Mario Joseph quotes verse 12 of chapter 1 of The Gospel of Jesus Christ according to St. John, above, saying:

« If you believe in Jesus, Jesus will give you the power to become a child of God. »

Mario Joseph: « It was such a word of love for me! (…) In all verses of the Qur’an, Allah calls human beings slaves and Allah is the Master. Master cannot love the slave. The slave cannot love the Master. I don’t like to be called a slave by someone. The Qur’an says that you are a slave. But when I heard this verse 12 of the Gospel according to St. John, chapter 1, immediately I said: I need Jesus, because I want to be a child of God. From there I started calling my God Dad, until then I didn’t know I could call God Dad. (…) Whenever I think that the creator of the Universe is my Father, I have a kind of joy that I cannot express. (…). I really like to call my God, Father. From there I decided to accept Jesus. »

Journalist Cristina Casado: « That’s when you decided to become a Christian?

Mario Joseph: « Yes!

(…) When his family discovered that he had become a Christian, his family mistreated him (in obedience to the Qur’an): without food or drink, beaten, imprisoned, up to the brink of death.

15 minutes from the video:

Mario Joseph: « It is better to die in Jesus. When I decided, suddenly, a light fell on my forehead, a light, something fell on me and there was a kind of electric shock running through all my veins, I was so energetic. (…) I removed my father’s hand (he mimics a hand shaking his own neck) and shouted, « Jesus! » When I screamed, my father fell to the ground, with the knife he was holding, there was a big wound on his chest, bleeding and a kind of mucus came out of his mouth and he was screaming. All of them were in shock, my brothers and my mother, my sisters. They didn’t know what was going on. So they thought my father was already dead. So they took my father and ran to the hospital, forgetting to close my room from the outside. I was in an energy that I can’t explain to you because I was skeletal, without food for several days, more than 20 days, but very energetic. So I went out, put on my father’s clothes, ran for a taxi, took a taxi to go beyond. On the way, the taxi driver was a Christian. He bought me sweets, juices and all these things. He knows my struggles and he took me to Pota and he even contacts me so far. He is very good friend to me, the taxi driver, so I went to Pota again. Since that day, I have truly understood that my Jesus is alive, even now, when I call Him for my needs. He saved me, which means he is present right here, as I speak to you, so this is my life. »

Here is a video( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwZT1aY3ZzI ) telling the story of a man, John Ramirez, a former Satanist, who became a Christian and testifies of his life.

In this video, John denounces (at 28 min 52 of this video) occultism, Wicca, new age, Buddhism, Islam, centoria, spiritualism; elsewhere in the video, he says he practiced astral travel before his conversion to Christianity and he explains (in italics: my explanatory grain of salt)  and reveals many things that help unmask the cruel enemy, Satan.

He says that people who do not seek any help from spiritual protection are easy to destroy, even if they are Christians. Someone without a life of prayer, fasting and without a personal relationship with God (who is Father, Son, Holy Spirit),  is weak, even if he is a Christian and has a form of piety. This Christian lacks Power, even though he has a Bible and nothing that moves(spiritually)  in his life. God is Almighty, but it is the human being who can be like an empty vessel, spiritually, therefore fragile, because,  in this case, without personal relationship with Jesus Christ,  (via his Holy  Guardian and the Holy Spirit),because heis  (too often)  outside of   the Divine Will, His Promises and His Divine Plan. John Ramirez could not destroy Christian praise singers who preached the Word of God, they were protected as if by a wall of fire, all around them, preventing any attack of evil.

John talks about his stay in hell, where there was fear, despair, torment, which were the opposite of Paradise, joy, Bliss, peace, Light, (love)  and where the cross of Jesus Christ appeared to him 2 times, out of love, during 2 spiritual battles, to save him from the cruel enemy,  for Jesus Christ, Grace and Mercy, told him that He had a Divine Plan for Him  (that of testifying, as He does in this video)  and that He loved Him far more than He could imagine.

When he woke up, this man, having found his spirit in his body, stood up, knelt before Jesus Christ, threw away all his occult material, and everything that had a connection with the world of darkness. He was attacked by the cruel enemy for 30 days. He prayed by saying « Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, » a prayer he had heard from a sister in a church. He went to worship Jesus in a church and asked Him, « Lord, why do You let all this happen to me? » One day, God replied, « I wanted to see how much you love me, how much you trust me. » And never again has John Ramirez been tormented by the devil and has become an Evangelist for Jesus Christ, who is His Lord, with whom he has a personal (faith)relationship. Jesus Christ is John’s beginning and end. No weapon forged against John will prosper. He will die when Jesus tells him to go home. (…) Nothing can separate John from God’s Love. (…) The greatest mark he has is his love for the Cross and there is nothing like the Cross of Jesus Christ (who died crucified to save us from evil). John was cursed and became blessed, for the one who was  (whom he believed to be)  blessed became cursed for John, who changed his (spiritual) father and his Father dominates the universe, loved him more than he could imagine, love that John can now give to his Christian daughter.

At the end of this video is a prayer:

Prayer for a Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ

Lord Jesus-Christ, I recognize that I am a person who has sinned against God.

I recognize that it was out of love that you died in my place, on the cross of Calvary, to save me.

Forgive all my sins. Come into my heart and reconcile me to God. I accept you today as my personal Savior and Lord.

Amen.

Thank God and His servants!
