Jesus needs us as we needs Him

Pour les francophones, vous trouverez cet article en français ici :

Par ailleurs, j’ai fait des ajouts par-ci, par-là dans ce blog, dont un message marial pour nous parler de notre Protection Divine ici :

Jesus Christ needs our love, help and support, just as we need love, help, and support!

Mass of December 18, 2021

Bible readings of this Mass:

First reading

« I will raise for David a righteous Germ » (Jr 23, 5-8)

Reading the book of the prophet Jeremiah

5 Behold the days come, saith the Lord, and I will raise up to David a just branch: and a king shall reign, and shall be wise, and shall execute judgement and justice in the earth.

6 In those days shall Juda be saved, and Israel shall dwell confidently: and this is the name that they shall call him: the Lord our just one.

7 Therefore behold the days to come, saith the Lord, and they shall say no more: The Lord liveth, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt:

8 But the Lord liveth, who hath brought out, and brought hither the seed of the house of Israel from the land of the north, and out of all the lands, to which I had cast them forth: and they shall dwell in their own land.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 72: 1-2, 12-13, 18-19

R. (7) Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever.

1, 2 Give to the king thy judgment, O God: and to the king’s son thy justice: To judge thy people with justice, and thy poor with judgment.

R. Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever.

12 For he shall deliver the poor from the mighty: and the needy that had no helper.

13 He shall spare the poor and needy: and he shall save the souls of the poor.

R. Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever.

18 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who alone doth wonderful things.

19 And blessed be the name of his majesty for ever: and the whole earth shall be filled with his majesty. So be it. So be it.

R. Justice shall flourish in his time, and fullness of peace for ever.

Alleluia

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

O Leader of the House of Israel, giver of the Law to Moses on Sinai: come to rescue us with your mighty power!

R. Alleluia, alleluia.

Gospel: Matthew 1: 18-25

18 Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost.

19 Whereupon Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing publicly to expose her, was minded to put her away privately.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a son: and thou shalt call his name JESUS. For he shall save his people from their sins.

22 Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the prophet, saying:

23 Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24 And Joseph rising up from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and took unto him his wife.

25 And he knew her not till she brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS

Mass of that day in Lourdes:

Here is a tutorial for translation :

Thank you for such a well-inspired Mass!

Here is what I remember from the homily of the priest, Father Pascal BOULIC, which sounds so right and helps me to walk towards the renunciation to interpret at any moment an unknown behavior, which comes out of my frame of reference and disturbs me. Behaviors can be judged, not people. That is why Jesus Christ said, « Do not judge (and you will not be judged). »

It is worth noting the great disposition of the heart open to the reception of the whole Holy Family: to welcome God as He is, it is the domain of Faith (humility, wisdom and love too, dare I add).

We can ask St. Bernadette to pray for us so that we will be able to welcome God as He is.

Mass of that day at Notre Dame de Lagarde in Marseille:

This service begins with the reading of Psalm 118, which is part of today’s Lauds:

Psalm: 118-19 « God  will rise from Lebanon, shining like dawn »

145 I call with all my heart: answer me;
I keep to your commandments.
146 I call you, Lord, save me;
I observe your requirements.
147 I am ahead of the dawn and I implore:
I hope in your word.
148 My eyes precede the end of the night to meditate on your promise.
149 In your love, Lord, listen to my voice:
according to your decisions make me live!
150 Those who pursue evil approach, they are moving away from your law.
151 You, Lord, you are close,
everything in your orders is truth.
152 I have known this for a long time:
you have founded forever your requirements.

Glory to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, for centuries of ages, amen.

As I was about to copy and paste the following biblical text, read at this office, my computer cursor stopped in front of this antiphon, part of the Lauds:

Inviting antiphon

Rejoice in the Lord, rejoice, for He is near.

Here are the rest of the texts read at this office:

SONG of Wisdom (Wis 9): « I look to my Lord, I await my Savior. »

1 God of my fathers and Lord of tenderness, by your word
you made the universe,
2 you formed man by your Wisdom

that he may rule over your creatures,
3 may he rule the world with justice and holiness, that he renders, with righteousness, his judgments.

4 Give me Wisdom, sitting next to you.
Do not take me away from the number of your sons:

5 I am your servant, the son of your servant, a frail man who lasts little, too weak to understand the precepts and laws.
6 most accomplished of the children of men, if he lacks the Wisdom you give,
   will be counted for nothing.

9 Now Wisdom is with you,
she who knows your works; she was there when you made the universe, * she knows what pleases in your eyes,
which is in accordance with your decrees.

10 Of the most holy heavens, deign to send him, bring her down from the throne of your glory.

Let her work alongside me and teach me what you like.

11 For she knows everything, understands everything, guide my actions with caution, will keep me by his glory.

Glory to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, for centuries of ages, amen.

The computer cursor stopped itself in front of:

Rejoice in the Lord, rejoice, for He is near.

Psalm 116: « Prepare  Israel to meet your God, for He is coming. »

To find this Psalm 116, it is in the link below, in a full version:

Instead of this psalm, partially read during this service, at the time when I wanted to copy and paste it, the computer cursor indicated to me the rest of the texts of the Lauds for this day, which is as follows:

Word of God: (Rm 13, 11-12)

Now is the time, the time has come to get out of your sleep. For salvation is closer to us now than it was when we became believers.   The night is soon over, the day is just around the corner. Let us reject the activities of darkness, let us put on the battle of light.

Responsories

R/ No darkness before you,

* Light of the world, hallelujah!

V/ Scrutinize me, Lord, know my heart,*

V/ Lead me on the path of eternity,*

Glory to the Father and the Son and to the Holy Spirit. R/

Antiphon of Zechariah

Prepare your heart: the Lord is near!

Song of Zechariah (Lk 1)

68 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
who visits and redeems his people.

69 He brought out the force that saves us in the house of David, his servant,

70 as he had said by the bouche of saints, by his prophets, since the ancient temps:

71 salvation that tears us away from the enemy, in the hand of all our oppressors,

72 love that he shows to our fathers, memory of his holy covenant ,

73 oath sworn to our father Abraham
   to answer us without fear,

74 so that, delivered from the main the enemies,

75  we may serve him in righteousness and holiness, in his presence, all in the long of our days.

76 And you, little child, will be called
prophet of the Most High: *you will walk before, in the face of the Lord, and you prepare for his ways

77 to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the remembrance of their sins,

78 thanks to the tenderness, to the love of our God, when we visit the star from above,

79 to enlighten those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death, to lead our steps on the path of peace.

Intercession

With confidence, let us pray to Christ, whom the Father has established as the judge of the living and the dead:

R/

Come, Jesus, Savior!

Lord Jesus, who came to save sinners, beware of succumbing to the onslaught of evil.

You who have announced your coming as judge, manifest in us the power of your salvation.

Give us the strength of the Spirit, may we find our joy in following your path of righteousness.

You, the Blessed One, who reign over all things,
grant us to live in this world in fidelity and sobriety, hoping for the manifestation of your glory.

Our Father

Prayer

As you can see, Almighty God, we are bending under the sin that has subjected man to his law: bring us deliverance through the renewal we expect from the incomparable birth of your beloved Son. He who reigns.

After singing for the Holy Spirit to enlighten me, the computer cursor of this document stopped in front of: (Lord,)

grant us to live in this world in fidelity and sobriety, hoping for the manifestation of your glory.

(Amen.)

Homily of this Mass at 14 minutes, 55.

What I remember: Saint Joseph is a righteous man who tries (and succeeds, dare I add) to adjust to this Love that God gives us. During a dream, he hears this word: « Do not fear. » Here, what about us? When we have this feeling of loneliness? Do we choose to adjust to the Word of the Lord? To listen to Him? »

Stop! I should have removed Psalm 116, given the indications I received. Okay, I’m removing it and leaving you the link to find it.

Reading the following readings, I understood why it was so important to transmit them to you: it is for me and to prepare you for the Warning, like a prophetess of the Most High (verses 76 to 79 of the song of Zechariah), and for the return of Jesus Christ, « Joy, Light of the world, Savior » (said the priest of the Mass at Our Lady of Lagarde, today). Warning described as an event of Divine Mercy for sinners, as the last chance they will repent of their sins, before the Time of God’s Righteousness.

In the continuation of the homily of this priest in Marseille:

« During the adoration of Jesus the Host, He said to us, ‘Fear not. I am with you, I will always be with you. And even if you don’t understand, there’s something beautiful to welcome. (This is precisely what may well happen to us during the Warning, it is up to us to remember His words, those of Jesus Christ, who loves us, helps us, and sustains us. It’s up to us to think of asking Him. And he also needs our love, our help and our support: c. f. 3rd day of novena with the Virgin Marypregnant with Jesus).  « Saint  Joseph takes Mary as his wife and knows that with Mary he will be able to welcome Jesus, go to Egypt, accompany Jesus throughout his childhood. What about us? We can thank Joseph for setting an example of having been able to accept and love Mary with the Surprise of God the Father, which is Jesus in her womb, and ask our Mother Mary of Heaven to guide us to her Son.

In case of lack of courage, as was my case, given the magnitude of my task:

I listened to 3  songs thatare already on thisblog:«  In Christ alone », « I can only imagine », « What a beautiful name » by BYU Vocal Point, and

« You raise me up »

3 versions : Josh Groban

BYU Vocal point

Celtic Woman

+ Amazing Grace by Celtic Woman:

c. f. also the article of this blog that talks about the film of the same name:

This last song is an invitation to turn to God and to know how to welcome the surprising  Divine Grace.

For those who need to heal:

Prayer song asking God for healing by the group « Glorious »

Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son, needs us and is happy when we are gathered together to pray to Him and ask Him that the world become Christian again, that is, to follow Him, love Him and put Him, with the Father and the Holy Spirit, first.

At the opening of the computer document of the course of the collective prayer time of November 29, 2021, the cursor stopped in front of this sentence of the prayer of consecration in the heart of Jesus:

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Mother Mary of Mercy, pray and intercede for us.

Thank God and His servants!

Thank you for reading me!

I send you love!
